The Theta Gamma chapter here at UTSA began our long-term Music & Memory Project in the Fall of 2014. Our mission is to increase awareness of the power of music and it's affects with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. We are raising funds to enable care facilities to become certified in the Music &Memory Program.
What we've done so far...
Together with the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha, Nu Eta Chapter, we performed songs selected by our grandparents and loved ones, and gave a presenation.
We were even on
campus radio!
Music & Memory is an organization that takes music to Alheimer's facilities through the use of iPod's to access a person's memory and touch a part of them that no medicine can do.
